Affected by a cold air front, Huangshan Scenic Area experienced its first snowfall of the New Year on the first day of the holiday, with snowflakes blanketing iconic pine trees, unique rock formations, and peak clusters, creating a picturesque winter landscape that attracted numerous visitors to enjoy the snow and celebrate the holiday.

In response to low temperatures, snow and ice conditions, and increased holiday visitor volumes, the scenic area made advance deployments and responded swiftly to ensure safe operations and orderly tourism activities.

The Scenic Area Transportation Bureau increased patrol frequency on tourist roads, deployed snow-removal equipment to clear road surfaces, and urged passenger transport enterprises to strengthen safety reminders for drivers.

The landscaping department continued implementing the “one tree, one plan; one tree, one team” approach, carrying out emergency protective measures to ensure the safety of ancient and notable trees within the scenic area.

Based on snowfall conditions, the sanitation department promptly adjusted work schedules and carried out snow-clearing operations on roads and walkways.

According to the head of the Xihai Sanitation Office of Huangshan Garden Development and Management Company, all sanitation staff were mobilized at around 4:00 a.m. to remove ice and snow from pedestrian paths, spread anti-slip sand on key sections, and place safety warning signs in slippery areas to remind visitors to proceed with caution and ensure touring safety.

Meanwhile, frontline staff from comprehensive management, public security, cableway operations, and hotels jointly participated in ice and snow removal efforts, ensuring that major walkways in core scenic areas were cleared before the arrival of the first group of visitors.

The scenic area also provided tour information services and free hot beverages, allowing visitors to feel warmth and reassurance while enjoying the snowy scenery.

According to the scenic area’s meteorological department, the remaining two days of the New Year holiday are expected to be mainly sunny but cold, making them suitable for viewing sunrises, rime ice, and winter snow scenery. Visitors are advised to take anti-slip and cold-protection measures and to stay informed about the opening status of walkways.
