Mt.Huangshan Wins Gold at the 2025 “Data Elements ×” Competition

The Anhui division of the 2025 “Data Elements ×” Competition has successfully concluded, with the “Huangshan Smart Cultural Tourism Data Team” taking home the gold award. The team was a joint effort by the Huangshan Scenic Area Administrative Committee, Huangshan Tourism Development Co., Ltd., Anhui Tuma Technology Co., Ltd., Ant Group, and China Unicom Data Intelligence Co., Ltd. Their winning project, “Data-Converging Peaks, Smart Touring Huangshan—Applying Multi-dimensional Data Integration to Scenic Area Management,” stood out for its innovation and impact.

The project leverages multi-dimensional data integration and AI technologies to build a smart cultural tourism platform spanning scenic area operations, visitor services, and enterprise management. It tackles long-standing industry challenges such as fragmented data, slow response times, and a lack of personalized services.

By consolidating structured and unstructured data from government agencies, tourism enterprises, internet platforms, and telecom providers, the team created a large-scale cultural tourism knowledge base and feature library. These resources powered the development of predictive models and vertical AI models that now support five core functions: AI travel assistant, intelligent customer service, smart management, and enterprise operations.

A key innovation is the intelligent ticket-matching algorithm, enhanced by multimodal interaction and scenario-based technologies. In trials, it reduced ticket purchase time by 80% and cut negative feedback on intelligent customer service to just 0.03%, setting new industry benchmarks.

The project also established an innovative collaboration model bringing together government, businesses, platforms, and technology partners. It created a comprehensive governance framework for data compliance and security, offering a replicable model for the effective flow and use of data elements across the cultural tourism sector.

Experts praised the project for its strong business outcomes, technological innovation, and broader social and environmental benefits, calling it a model for the digital transformation of the cultural tourism industry in Anhui and beyond.

The “Data-Converging Peaks, Smart Touring Huangshan” project was previously recognized as one of the “Top 10 Cultural Tourism Innovation Cases of 2024” and has been featured by leading outlets including CCTV and People’s Daily. Winning the gold award further cements Huangshan’s leadership in advancing the integration of “data elements × cultural tourism.”
