In June 2024, Huangshan UNESCO Global Geopark entered into a strategic sister-park partnership with Iran’s Aras UNESCO Global Geopark. Following its cooperation with Lesvos Island UNESCO Global Geopark in Greece, Aras became the second overseas geopark to establish formal ties with Huangshan. This milestone collaboration has been spotlighted in the publicity section of the China Forestry and Grassland Yearbook 2024.
Jointly compiled by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and forestry and grassland authorities across China, the China Forestry and Grassland Yearbook serves as an authoritative record of the nation’s key annual achievements in the forestry and grassland sectors. The recognition of this case underscores the remarkable contributions of Huangshan and Aras to fostering ecological civilization and advancing sustainable development on a global scale.
