Recently, the project evaluation meeting for the 2024 Annual Ground Monitoring of Ecological Environment and the National Ecological Quality Comprehensive Monitoring Station (Huangshan Station) was held in Hefei, with relevant officials from the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment in attendance.
According to the project report, the ecological environment of the Huangshan Scenic Area has remained generally good, with all indicators stable. Throughout the year, 85 species of birds from 15 orders, 32 species of mammals from 7 orders, 23 species of amphibians from 2 orders, 21 species of reptiles from 2 orders, 128 species of butterflies from 6 families, and 32 species of large soil animals from 7 classes were monitored. This includes 6 species of nationally key-protected wild plants and 15 species of nationally key-protected wild animals, as well as 1 new record species in Anhui Province.
The expert evaluation team listened to the project construction report, reviewed the relevant documents, and after inquiries and discussions, unanimously agreed to pass the project. They also believed that the continuous conduct of ground monitoring of the ecological environment can provide scientific support for the ecological environment and biodiversity protection in the Huangshan Scenic Area.
The Huangshan Scenic Area was included in the national key ground monitoring network for ecological environment by the China National Environmental Monitoring Center in 2017. In 2024, it was listed in the construction plan for the National Ecological Quality Comprehensive Monitoring Station by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
