During the Year of the Snake, over the 8-day holiday, the Huangshan Geopark welcomed more than 200,000 visitors.
This Spring Festival, under the theme “Celebrate the New Year with Intangible Cultural Heritage, Experience the Festivities in Huangshan,” Huangshan meticulously prepared over a hundred events showcasing the distinctive Hui culture. Activities such as the Golden Dragon Parade, Fish Lantern Dance, print paintings, Liuyang Drum, Huangmei Opera, handmade lucky bags, paper cutting, and face-changing performances were held at the mountaintop. The talented staff also performed self-directed plays based on the “Four Great Classical Novels” and “The Legend of the White Snake,” along with the “National Style Wonderful Night” gala. In this way, visitors could appreciate not only the magnificent landscapes of China but also the extraordinary charm of its excellent traditional culture.
During the holiday, all management staff remained on duty, promptly organizing volunteers in various front-line areas. Departments such as Comprehensive Management, Police Offices, Market Supervision, Transportation, Healthcare, Fire Prevention, Ticketing, Cable Cars, and Shuttle Bus all started work early to provide extended service hours during peak visitor times. A special 12345 hotline team was established to quickly respond to tourist inquiries. In rainy and snowy weather, hotels, cable car stations, transfer stations, and other venues provided free hot drinks, ginger tea, snacks, and emergency medicines to ensure that visitors’ personalized needs were fully met during their stay.
To ensure safe and smooth travel during the Spring Festival, Huangshan adhered to the principles of “limited access, reservations, and staggered peak times,” implementing strict real-name, time-slot-based, and directional entry policies. Through a series of measures, such as enhanced command scheduling, collaborative coordination between different areas, suspension of online ticket sales, improvement of the waiting list system, and guiding offline crowd diversion, the area ensured smooth and orderly visitor flow, improved the overall visitor experience, and met the demand for sightseeing as much as possible.
The Welcome Pine Command and Scheduling Platform is upgraded to enhance the accuracy of visitor flow prediction and improve scientific management. To handle the vast number of tourist inquiries, the promotion of the official free “Smart Travel Huangshan” mini-program is intensified, which was used by over 90,000 people during the holiday, with nearly 300,000 visits. The AI travel assistant served over 120,000 users and responded to more than 900,000 inquiries, helping visitors plan their trips.
