In order to further implement the requirements of the cooperation mechanism between Mount Huangshan and the Geological Museum of Anhui Province, recently the Geological Museum of Anhui Province visited Huangshan UNESCO Global Geopark to investigate geological heritages, and focused on dinosaur and its egg fossils collected in Huangshan Geopark Museum.
In the Geopark Museum, experts and scholars in the field of geological and paleontological research, including Huang Jiandong, Director of the Academic Committee and Senior Engineer from the Provincial Geological Museum, Liu Jun, Professor of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering at Hefei University of Technology, Paul Martin Sander, Professor at the University of Bonn in Germany, Phornphen Chanthasit, Director of the Sirindhorn Museum in Thailand, Adun Samathi and Jin Wijanee from Mahasarakan University in Thailand, and Hu Yiwei from the University of Zurich in Switzerland, conducted detailed observations and discussions on the dinosaur and its egg fossils in the collection. Experts agreed that the three dinosaur bone fossils in the museum should be part of Huangshan Dragon and have not been published, which has certain research value; The dinosaur egg fossils are quite different from the fossils found in Mount Huangshan area, and have high research value. The Provincial Geological Museum said that it will arrange experts to come to the museum for further research.
Next, the Huangshan Geopark Museum will strengthen its connection with the Anhui Geological Museum, enhance the research and development of its collection resources, and contribute to the promotion of "low mountain tourism" in the geopark.
