Mt.Huangshan experience helps to build a waste sorting standard system

In recent years, Mt.Huangshan has been committed to promoting the standardization of waste sorting. Mt.Huangshan has participated in the development of the Standard for the Waste Sorting Facilities in Scenic Areas, which was officially issued and implemented on October 1, 2022, The standard Regulations for the Sorting and Collection of Waste in Scenic Areas passed expert review on March 30, 2023. Recently, the standard Operating Regulations for the Sorting and Disposal of Garbage in Scenic Areas which is also developed mainly by Mt.Huangshan has been reviewed by experts in Xi'an and is planned to be promulgated and implemented by the end of the year.

The above three standards constitute a complete standard system for the waste sorting system, which will provide technical guidance for the entire lifecycle of waste in scenic areas across the country, from facility, sorting and disposal to transportation.

Besides Huangshan, Yunnan Provincial Association of Scenic Areas, Hunan Provincial Conservation Center of Nature Reserves, Jiangxi Provincial Association of Landscape Architecture, Guizhou Provincial Association of Scenic Ares, the West Lake, Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area Valley, Dujiangyan Irrigation Project and Maijishan and other well-known scenic areas participated in the preparation of some standards. With the strong support of the China Urban Environmental Sanitation Association, Mt. Huangshan is the only scenic area in China that participated in the preparation of the three standards.
