Recently, Huangshan had an online expert review meeting on the conclusion of the project of Investigation and Evaluation of Insect Resources in Huangshan Scenic Area (Phase I). Experts and professors from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Agricultural University, Anhui Agricultural University, Hefei Normal University, and the landscape Bureau of Huangshan have reviewed this project together.
After questioning and full discussion, the review team fully affirmed the project of Investigation and Evaluation of Insect Resources in Huangshan Scenic Area (Phase I), considered that the survey site layout of the project was reasonable, the method was scientific and feasible, and strictly fulfilled the relevant requirements of public bidding documents and procurement contracts, completed various contents specified in the project contract with high quality, and unanimously agreed that the project passed the review.
This project lasts two years. It is for the first time, a systematic investigation of insect resources in different habitats in Huangshan and adjacent areas. A total of 13 times of field investigations were carried out. More than 10000 Huangshan insect specimens were collected. 2380 species of insects in 27 orders were identified, including 12 new species, 5 national class II protected animals, 20 national protected animals Wild animals of beneficial, important economic value and scientific research value, 16 threatened species, 93 type specimens is originated in Huangshan and 38 species newly recorded in Anhui province. The project provides valuable first-hand data and scientific basis for the protection of biodiversity resources in Huangshan, and has achieved good social and ecological benefits.
